Run Your Ice Off 5k is one of the final events of IceFest on Sunday, 2/1/2026. The course goes through downtown and onto our beautiful rail trail. RYIO is a fun way to end the 4-day ice festival as you run or walk your winter blues away! Well-behaved pets are always invited to join us! RYIO proceeds support IceFest, the LFC Alumni Scholarship Fund, and area nonprofits.
2026 Run Your Ice Off 5K – RACE CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER
Due to hazardous racecourse conditions and low temperatures, the Run Your Ice Off 5K scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, has regretfully been canceled.
The safety of our participants, volunteers, and emergency personnel is always our top priority. After carefully reviewing current conditions and weather forecasts, we determined that holding the event would pose unnecessary risk. As part of IceFest, this fundraising event will not be rescheduled, and registrations are not transferable or refundable.
Participants who registered with a race shirt can pick it up this weekend. Those who came in after the early deadline may have the opportunity to receive a race shirt at no extra cost during pick-up times on a first-come, first-served basis.
All participants will be entered into a random drawing for $350+ in gift cards and for a chance to win one of our 80 unique RYIO race medals. A list of winners will be emailed by Thursday afternoon, so you are aware that there is a prize awaiting you!

Also on Sunday, 2/1, we will be offering the community hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies to celebrate what would have been our race day – please stop by. Unclaimed prizes or shirts not picked up this weekend cannot be mailed.
We encourage everyone to still celebrate the RYIO spirit —put on your Run Your Ice Off race shirt, take a photo of yourself being active, and share it on our IceFest page!

Runners’ safety is the most important thing, and if there are severe threatening weather conditions on the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, the Run officials maintain the right to cancel the event. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations to the course to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. Such conditions fall under the label “Acts of God,” and will not result in the refund of any race entry fees or future event credits.
